Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Package Lead to oversee and manage the electrical scope of a new-build power generation construction project. The role will involve supervising electrical installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and coordinating grid connection activities. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide oversight of Senior Authorised Person (SAP) work, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the electrical package from design through to commissioning, ensuring project milestones and quality standards are met.
Supervise and coordinate grid connection activities, liaising with network operators, contractors, and relevant stakeholders.
Oversee and support SAP activities, ensuring safe working procedures and adherence to permit systems.
Ensure electrical works are completed in compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.
Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring adherence to contract scope, budgets, and timelines.
Conduct risk assessments, method statements, and implement safe working practices.
Support the commissioning phase, troubleshooting electrical systems and ensuring successful project handover.
Collaborate with project teams, including civil, mechanical, and operational stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
Provide technical expertise, resolving any electrical design or installation challenges.
Maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports, technical records, and compliance documentation.
Requirements:
Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Extensive experience in power generation, energy infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects.
Strong knowledge of grid connection requirements and regulatory frameworks (e.g., National Grid, DNO/TSO requirements).
Experience in SAP duties and HV electrical systems, including switching operations and network management.
Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the power sector.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic construction environment, solving technical challenges effectively.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., HV Authorisation, IOSH/NEBOSH) are advantageous.
