Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer in a supervisory capacity to join our team, with a direct link to the Project Management function rather than the site-based construction teams. This is a key role where technical engineering knowledge meets operational oversight, ensuring mechanical works progress on schedule and meet quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise mechanical engineering works across the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to design, safety, and quality standards.

  • Act as the main interface between project management and subcontracted mechanical firms.

  • Monitor and report on progress of mechanical installations, flagging risks and delays early.

  • Drive daily and weekly coordination with subcontractors to ensure timelines are met.

  • Maintain and enforce high standards of communication and professionalism across stakeholders.

  • Review drawings, specifications, and ensure installations are in line with project requirements.

  • Support project managers in planning and sequencing of mechanical activities.

  • Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory and HSE requirements.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent professional background.

  • Proven experience supervising mechanical works on large-scale engineering or construction projects.

  • Strong understanding of project planning, sequencing, and progress tracking.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining authority while working closely with subcontractors and internal teams.

  • Comfortable representing the client/project team in coordination meetings and addressing technical or programme issues.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to mechanical works.0
