Rate:£20.00 Monday to Friday & £25.00 Weekends

Start Date: Immediate start 

Hours:8:00-16:00 Monday to Friday/ 8:00-13:00 Saturday.

Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Slinger/Signaller to join our industrial project team. As a Slinger/Signaller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment on the project site. Your expertise in hand signals, communication, and rigging operations will contribute to maintaining a productive and secure work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Load Management:

    Work closely with crane operators to ensure proper attachment and safe lifting of materials and equipment, adhering to all rigging and lifting protocols.

  • Signal Communication:

    Use standardized hand signals and/or radio communication to direct crane operators during lifting and positioning operations.

  • Safety Compliance:

    Maintain a strong commitment to safety by ensuring that all lifting activities follow established safety guidelines, regulations, and company policies.

  • Site Coordination:

    Collaborate with the project team, including equipment operators, riggers, and other personnel, to ensure efficient and coordinated movement of materials across the project site.

  • Equipment Inspection:

    Conduct pre-use inspections of rigging equipment, slings, and lifting accessories to ensure their safety and functionality.

  • Documentation:

    Maintain accurate records of lifting operations, including load weights, equipment used, and any incidents or near misses. Complete lifting plans and risk assessments as required.

  • Problem Solving:

    Identify potential hazards and challenges related to lifting operations and communicate them to the appropriate personnel for resolution.

  • Training and Support:

    Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members on proper rigging techniques, hand signals, and safety procedures.

  • Equipment Maintenance:

    Assist in the proper storage, maintenance, and care of rigging equipment and accessories.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    Actively participate in safety meetings, contribute to process improvement discussions, and share insights to enhance lifting operations efficiency and safety.
