The Role:

We are currently recruiting for a SHEQ Officer to join our expanding team. The successful candidate being based in our Burton Office and reach to sites from that location.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring a safe workplace environment without risk to health.

  • Ensuring that all SHEQ policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.

  • Co-ordinating the development of SHEQ policies, systems of work and procedures.

  • Ensuring the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.

  • Ensuring the completion and regular review of risk assessments in partnership with the SHEQ Manager for all work equipment and operations.

  • Ensuring that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented.

  • Ensuring that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported & recorded, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.

  • Ensure full and accurate health and safety and training records are maintained (over see this myself), providing tool box talks and safety briefings to support ongoing training.

  • Establishing a full programme of documented SHEQ inspections, audits and checks.

  • Establishing a structured programme of health & safety training throughout the Company.

  • Liaising with external health & safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety services.

  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business. Participate in monthly meetings when required to report on relevant health & safety matters.

  • Monitor and record all relevant quality records alongside the Production Department to ensure compliance with UKCA Marking.

Must have:

  • NEBOSH Diploma

  • Experience with Steel.
